Second Pair of Gloves

1. Studying the Poison


Quest: Black Wyvern Down (Part 2)

In order to cure this soldier, Curate Sabha is going to need to know what ingredients were used to make the poison, and how the ingredients were combined. He tells you to return to the location where you found the Poisoned Soldier and look around the building that he was standing next to. He also hands you the Coronarian Censer which is a holy object created by the White Coronaria. This object will allow you to communicate through the smoke it creates, as well as absorb and neutralize poisons.

test So off you fly back to the place you found the Poisoned Soldier. This is going to be a tough place, as pulling can get a little tricky. The mobs in and around the building will be level 16-17 3 dots, with a few 4 dots mixed into the pack. Most often than not, pulling will result in a bunch of them rushing you, so watch out.

When you do make it inside, and clear the way a bit, you will notice a bunch of vases lying around. Pick one and right click it to obtain some Poison Residue.

test So now that you have the ingredients it's time to find something that will explain how they were put together. Luckily for you there are some Ragged Manual of Toxins lying around as well. Find a pile of books that will be located on the ground inside of the same building. Right clicking and looting the book will complete the quest.

Now right click the Coronarian Censer that is in your inventory. This will spawn the Coronarian Censer Manifestation. Talk to him to complete the quest, and get the next one.


2. Investigations


Quest: Ingredients of Evil Quest: To Make a Poison

Curate Sabha manages to use the information inside of the book to cure the Poisoned Solder, even though the book only had the first chapter inside of it. Unfortunately it seems that the soldier was only affected with a minor test poison, and Sabha was barely able to cure it. Therefore you must investigate some of the other entries mentioned within that book immediately!

He offers you 2 quests to get the job done, one is to catalogue the different ingredients that the Ksaravi are using, and the other are to find the rest of the chapters of the book by killing the 5 different Brewmasters inside of the Gulch.

test The quest Ingredients of Evil will make you go to 7 different places around the Gulch in search of 7 different poison samples. Each poison will be located inside of a vase, and all 7 locations will be marked on your map. Right click the vases to catalogue the poisons.

test The quest To Make a Poison will make you go to 5 different places around the Gulch in search of 5 different chapters of the Toxins Book. Five different Brewmasters will be holding 5 different chapters. They will be spread out throughout the Gulch, but luckily you will get 5 marks on your map helping you find each Brewmaster that you need. The Brewmasters will be around level 16 3dots and shouldn't take too much to kill (the problem will be getting to them!). After you recover all 5 chapters, right click the Ragged Manual of Toxins to turn it into The Sebala to complete the quest.

After you have gotten all the pieces you need, right click on the Coronarian Censer to spawn the Manifestation once again for the turn in, and the next quest.


3. Collecting Ingredients


Quest: Black Wyvern Down (Part 3)

Curate Sabha looks over all the information that you have offered. He notices one poison, in particular, called Feverbane. Many notes seem to be scrawled in the margins next to it and he believes it is the poison the Ksaravi are trying to create. If they succeed in creating it, they no doubt plan to use it on Khal, which would leave the city dead and lifeless in a matter of days.

There is, however, a ray of hope. Feverbane can only be brewed in large pools, and if a Coronarian Censer is placed within such a pool then it should be neutralized. However, to survive contact with Feverbane you will first need to enhance your pair of gloves. Therefore, you must collect 4 Chactid Carapace Segments, 3 Mantis Leg Saws, 4 Corroded Rat Tooths, and 20 Ksaravi Fur Tuft.

test The Ksaravi Fur Tuft are easy to get, as they will drop from any Ksaravi in the whole gulch, and they are all over the place. The Ksaravi differ in levels, depending on where you are in the Gulch (from 14 2dot to 17 4dot, and all inbetween). Each Ksaravi will drop one fur tuft for everyone on the quest. Collecting 20 of these and you will be done this step.

test Corroded Rat Tooths will drop off of the rats inside of the Gulch. They are spread out sparadically, layered in there with the Ksaravi. Luckily you will only need to collect 4 of these, which isn't too hard a task, and also depending on where you are in the Gulch will determine what level and dot the rat will be (all around levels 14 - 17). Collect your 4 teeth to be done with this step.

test Mantis Leg Saws drop off of the Mantis-like creatures inside of the Gulch. They only spawn deeper into the Gulch, so fly around and be on the look-out for them. They will be around level 18 and vary in dots (most are 2-3 dot). Each one will drop a Saw, and since you only need 3, it shouldn't take you long to collect what you need.

test Lastly, the Chactid Carapace Segments drop off of Scorpion's that reside inside of the Gulch. They mostly show up in the middle section of the Gulch, and will vary in level from 16-17 (2-3 dot). Some will ride in packs of 3, while others will be wandering alone, but in the end you will only need 4 segments, and since each scorpion will drop one, it won't take you long before you a finished.

Now find a safe spot and right click your Coronarian Censer, once again, to spawn the manifestation for the turn-in and your reward of a stronger pair of gloves.
