The Summoning of Xarkrafi

1. The Beacon of Azara Shahab

test

Perched atop the Beacon named after herself, Azara Shahab looked towards the dreaded Temple of Dailuk. When you arrive she will explain the situation to you. She looks over to the west and tells you about the foul temple, which are inhabited by vile fields and the impure who worship them. The worshipers actually believe that the fiends are their salvation, and it is up to Azara to show them the error in their ways before they destroy us all.

If you choose to help her, she will suggest to reach across the void, compel the beats across it, and then destroy them. She needs help though, and that's where you come in. The first thing she would like to do is the covenant's rituals to summon across one of the main fiends named Xarkrafi. She has heavily researched what it entails; however, before the ritual can be performed, a few components will need to be gathered for her.

2. Gathering the Components

Quest: Purifying the Temple (Part 1)

test Now the components she wishes you to gather can all be found inside of the Temple of Dailuk. You will need to collect only one of the following items: a Covenant Writ, a Stone-like Fiend Wing, and a Tuft of Flarehound Fur.

The Covenant Writ can be found off of the humans that follow The Covenant. There will be a number of buildings that they are huddled around, so they should be easy to find. They are all around level 16 3dot, and should be an easy kill for a group.

test The next item you will need to find is the Stone-like Fiend Wing. Going a little further into the temple area, you may notice stone gargoyle-like creatures roaming around the grounds. These creatures will drop the item that you need. They will be much harder to kill than the covenants, as they will be around level 17, and all be 4dots. Kill them until the wing drops.

test Now that you have the Writ and the Wing, head over to the Flarehounds, they shouldn't be too far away from the Stone Fiends, and there should be camps of them around some bones. The Flarehounds will be around level 15 4dot and there should be plenty for you to kill.

After you have collected all of the items, head back to Azara Shahab for the next step in the summoning process.

3. Xarkrafi

Quest: Purifying the Temple (Part 2)

She will be thrilled that you have brought back all the basic components needed for the ritual. It is almost enough to open up a void large enough to summon across Xarkrafi, but not quite. All that is left to obtain is a relic from the void itself! Luckily for us, the covenant is already preparing to summon a fiend by the name of Kraelix into our world. We can use this to our advantage, and help them in their summoning. Take this Voidrender and hand it to the summoners in the Courtyard of Scorn, it will surely get them to start the summoning.

test She marks on your map the location of the Courtyard of Scorn, then sends you on your way. So, make your way to the courtyard of Scorn. When you get there, you will notice 3 Summoners of Kraelix, as well as 2 Flarehounds guarding them. Take our the Flarehounds without touching the Summoners (the Summoners won't attack you! So don't attack them! You need them!). Now run in between the summoners and right click the Voidrender that is in your inventory. This will begin the summoning process.

test You will notice the Summoners beginning the process to bringing Kraelix into this world. As they are summoning, you will start to become attacked by Protectors of Kraelix (around lvl 18 4dots). They will come 2 at a time, but you should have enough time to kill the 2 before another 2 spawns (you brought a group right?). After killing 3 waves of them, 2 more Razorfangs will spawn (around lvl 17 4dots) guarding the Summoners, as well as an untargetable Kraelix Mirage which will show as being in your encounter display (this will keep your group in battle, nullifying health and energy regen). After killing the 2 Razorfangs, Kraelix will spawn into the world. He will be a gigantic yellowish fiend that will hover over your group (lvl 18 5dot mob). Take him down, laugh at his corpse and take his Trinket of Kraelix.

NOTE: At some point in the fight, Kraelix may call for aid from the 3 summoners. Watch out for the aggro.

You now have the relic needed to summon Xarkrafi. Use your map to find the House of Xarkrafi. You will need to enter his house and head down to the large room at the bottom. You will notice that in this room, there will be Sentrys of Xarkrafi lining the walls. That's ok, leave them there. You will also notice a human named Head Ritualist Morkuma standing in one of the sides of the room, you will not need this gentleman unless you fail at killing Xarkrafi. Now choose a person in your group to stand by the green flame and right click the voidrender. This will start the event as well as remove the Ritual Components and the Trinket of Kraelix from your inventory.

test The first thing you will notice is that all of the Sentrys that are lining the walls of the room will turn invisible. Two at a time will come alive and swarm your group. This will happen 4 times, but on the 4th time you will get 3 fiends instead of 2 (the fiends are around level 18-19 4dot mobs). After you have ridden yourself of the Sentrys, Xarkrafi will come through the void and appear at the far end of the room. He will be a level 19 5dot ugly eye fiend looking thing. After you take him down, everyone in the group should get an update stating that their quest is complete. Head back to Azara Shahab to tell her your good deed.

NOTE: If you fail this event, talk to Head Ritualist Xarkrafi and he will be happy to give you another copy of the Trinket and the Ritual Components.
